What is graffiti
Graffiti are drawings or words that are written, sprayed, painted or scratched onto property. Graffiti is a criminal offence. We, or the police, can issue a fixed penalty notice of up to £100. More serious or repeated vandalism of this nature can carry larger fines given out by a magistrate.
You can report graffiti to us or the police.
If you see somebody in the act, call the police on 101.
What is fly posting
Fly posting is the display of posters, stickers, boards and other advertisements on either public property or other people’s private property. Fly posting is a criminal offence. It also creates a negative impression of an area and can contribute to people’s fear of crime. Those that are responsible for it or benefit from it can be prosecuted and fined up to £100. Repeated instances can carry larger fines given out by a magistrate.

To report acts of vandalism to private property, call the police on 101. If the graffiti is on private land or property, it is generally up to the owners to deal with it.
